HEALTHY DR SEUSS Birthday ideas

1 Month, 1 Week ago

Our new food service will not let us do a Dr Seuss Birthday cake for our grades
1-5 students. We have done this for years. So now looking for some ideas for Dr Seuss Birthday. We will have readers, we have a bookmark to give to the children. Someone dresses like the CAT and Thing one and Thing two
I was hoping for any other ideas

Snookie-
Our school no longer lets us have sweets on special occasions either! Makes it tough. How about asking the kids to bring in books they no longer want and do a book drive for kids in need to celebrate his birthday. You could ask kids to make cards to go along with the books as an activity.

Love the book drive idea, Maggie!

Snookie, here's another thought: in keeping with the theme of the The Lorax, how about having the kids bring in small recyclable items (soda caps, plastic goodie bag stuff, etc.) and using the items to create a recycled sculpture to honor Dr. Seuss' message. You could have them do individual ones or one large community sculpture that could go in the lobby. Maybe there is an art teacher who could help coordinate.

Hi Snookie-
I posed this question on Twitter and Lisa Kothari tweeted back this link:
