I need feedback regarding children's authors who visit NJ schools. Can anyone share info about an author who visited your school?

I don't know his name but my sister's school in NJ just had the illustrator from the "Goosebumps" series come in. She said the children loved it!...They drew up a bunch of goose bumps prior to his coming and the kids got to collect them and post them on a drawn character (or something like that)....d

You have to get E.B. Lewis, childrens book illustrator. He was at our county Reading Festival a few weeks ago and my granddaughter is still talking about him. Great motivational speaker and from N.J. I believe. Just get on the web. you will find him.
We also had George Ella Lyon, Steven Kroll ("The Biggest Snowman Ever"). It was a three day event and was for adults as well as students, it was great!

We have used David Adler in the past and he was excellent. He wrote all the Cam Jansen books as well as a ton of other books including many history style books and books on famous Americans for kids. He lives in Long Island and will come to NJ. His fee is also nominal compared to other authors of his caliber. He was the kindest man and his presentation with the kids was really awesome. The children just loved him. He signed all of the kids books and then went to the library and signed all the books of his in the library as well. He literally spent all day at our school.

This is better as the publisher will require that you buy his books through them at their price. Since we booked with him personally we were able to go to Barnes & Noble and buy a ton of his books at a discount and then return any books we did not sell.

I have had good luck asking Boarders and Barnes and Knoble about local children's authors. Kids get fired up knowing that ANYONE can be an author, and you won't have to pay much for transportation/lodging.
