I am so happy for you!!!! This past year we had a new principal and new assistant. Amazingly they relied heavily on PTA and our members for information. It was fun to be the "know-it-alls" but more fun to be helpful. Best Wishes!

Hi all!
Just wanted to post an update. I found out yesterday from the school's head secretary that our principal WILL NOT (yeah!) be coming back. The new administrator will start this Wednesday. I also found out that the asst. principal will not be staying either. So, now the PTO has 2 new persons to deal with. This year should be very intersting!
Thanks again for all your help!

plw,

I am not sure if our principal will be going to another school, I can assume she will be, since this was her first crack at running a school. This was a decision that was made by her supervisor (from what I have been told). There were many parents who called her boss and complained about the way she treated the kids and complained about us losing alot of really great teachers. They wanted to know what the school board was going to do about it. I guess they got their answer, huh?

I found out this past Saturday that there is going to be a meeting tomarrow (Tuesday) at the board of ed and this issue is going to be discussed. The teachers who are behind the principal staying are expecting the pto board members to show up and say a speech. Unfortunately, none of us are going to be able to make it. With more notice, it may have been possible...but what could I have said that would make a difference?...I DONT want her to stay and I can not get up in front of the members of the board (of education) and lie and beg them to let her keep her job.

All I can do is pray that the person replacing her will be more understanding, thoughtful, caring, and much easier to get along with!

Thanks for everyone's advice about this.

My goodness. I hope you did not lose any sleep over this one. I am curious about one more thing. Was it originally the School Boards decision? Is this person going to be serving in another school? Were they actually fired? So glad everything worked out for you!!!!

Hello to all! First, let me say, THANK YOU for all the wonderfull responses and advice. I can always count on getting some good information by displaying a post here.

Now, for the good news! There was NO press at our school. Not in the morning, not in the afternoon. I think it was just a rumor that one of those teachers started.

The talk amongst the rest of the staff who want the principal gone is that the she will be going for sure. They have said that once the Board of Ed makes a decision like this, they rarely change their minds. The person who will be replacing her has more seniority and wants to be principal at our school. It's pretty much a done deal.

Thanks again for all your help!
