Yearbooks

6 Years, 6 Months ago

Other then LifeTouch is there any other company the publishes yearbooks? We have used them for years but last year we had a horrible experience with them and we are considering someone new? Can anyone suggest a company?

We used Life Touch last year and the yearbook cooridantor was absolutely NOT satisfied. I think she usually uses Josten's. I know we always used them when I was in high school. They may be a little more expensive but you get what you pay for.

My husband works at Josten's and not to toot his horn (okay, maybe just a little) they do an excellent job! I would be willing to get you some info if you want. Just email me at quincypto@hotmail.com.

I have to say we used Jostens last year for our first hard-cover book. We were generally very happy. We used their digital production and had a very easy time once we learned the program. I would definitely recommend them! Email me with any questions!

Hmmmmm, by chance are you in Fayetteville,NC Winnie? We used Lifetouch last year and were so disappointed that we told the principal to count PTO out for yearbooks this year if they were the company she used for school pictures. Yup, you guessed it, they were. All she saw was dollar signs for the school's cut of the picture packs--totally blew off the fact that the yearbooks were awful, plus we lost several thousand on the ones still sitting on the shelf unsold.
IF ( read VERY BIG IF) we do a yearbook this year, it'll be done in house by us. We have digital cameras and book binding equipment. We can tailor the books to suit our needs and only print as many as we actually need.

I know what you are talking about with lifetouch, I do have some hopefull new's to shair. Last year was our firts time using lifetouch, our work book were 3 weeks late getting to us, our proof came back 2 week after our firts deadline, our flash came to us 2 month after our first dead line, their softwere crashed the pto computer, and because of all of thier boo boo, we had to push a 60 pg. yearbook in to a one deadline book to make the finel product befor school was out. oh ya by the was our yearbook was delivered at 12:00 on the last day of school. so I know!! Here is the good new..... after fighting it out with our principal and loosing the battle we are stuck with lifetouch for a nother year, but I was talking to our lifetouch rep. and I was informed that (no to my suprise) we were not the only school to have problems last year in fact they had so meny problems that this year the co. has asked each lifetouch rep. to get one cordinator from their district be sit on a online panel. The panel will meet one a month and try to work out the problems. so one school from each of the lifetouch districts should have a online rep. for these meeting. they say that they are going to listen to our talks and ideas and work to make lifetouch a better co. willing to adapt to the need of the school's. maby it will work, maby we will go with a new co. next year. I know I will be sitting online each month voicing my ideas.
