PTO Today Forums - Formats

1 Year, 4 Months ago

I've been meaning to ask for awhile - what's going on with the formats in the forums. At least for me, bullets no longer work, bold isn't an option, pasted hyperlinks don't come across as a link. Seems likes we've lost functionality. I've been noticing it for awhile, but just thought it was temporary.

I've tried both IE and Firefox with same results.

Doesn't anyone else get these to work correctly?

Bullets (looks okay while editing, but not once posted)

  • Item 1

  • Item 2

  • Item 3

Numbers

  • Item number 1

  • Item number 2

  • Item number 3

It's a short-term defense against some of the scripts/spam we were dealing with last week. Had to turn off all formatting.

Aiming to have all better shortly.

Thanks for explaining. The lack of formatting is no big deal. It's far more important that you try to keep the creeps and bots out. Thanks for all the hard work.

Thing I noticed is that the posts are now oldest first, so whenever I go to look at the latest posts I need to click "last" to get to the new ones. I hope that this will be fixed, or is there something that I can do now to change this?

I'm not remembering the order as different, but I may have simply forgotten. I didn't see a way to change the order. But if you change your display mode (upper right, above the message box) to "Hybrid", you'll get a diagram/flow chart of the messages in the thread. At least you could easily pop down to where you want to start reading without scrolling.

Hi Jim -

Believe they've always been oldest first. One possibility -- perhaps the program used to always automatically jump you to the bottom (last post). But the order has always been this way.

Will check.
