We are considerting converting to a PTO. However, we have had some difficulty in spending all of our funds so that the State and/or National PTA cannot reclaim these dollars. We are trying to investigate different ways to get rid of the money - yet keep it within our jurisdiction. Does anyone know if it is possible to make a gift or contribution directly to our school from the PTA? Also, we need to know what can be expected from the State and/or National PTA other than the "scare" tactics when we notify them of our intent. Any input from those groups that have already made this change would be greatly appreciated.

Yes you can contribute a GIFT to the school from the PTA.....as far as leaving the PTA you only have to have a group decide you no longer want to be a PTA.....there are no SCARE tactics to stay
