I would appreciate hearing from other schools.

Whatever parent group you have, it is only as successful as the support you get from the parents, volunteers, staff and school. Being tied to a large organization that is working for the benefit of the children and students on a legislative side seems to be a positive thing.

Being a PTO, your voice is only heard as far as your school or district.
