Not that I know of. You are basically starting from scratch and need to generate your own funds by doing bake sales, a fundraiser with no cash up front type thing there are plenty of them out there. Generally though once you get a PTO started then you leave the next group a balance to start with. The actual figure is probably listed in your bylaws, if you dont have those get started on those too. We have to leave at least $500.00.

Good Luck

I am on the PTO at a new elementary school. This is it's very 1st year in existance. There are 4 other elementary schools in our small city. You know what they say, it takes money to make money & we have none. This is my 1st year involved w/ a PTO. I have sat on the board of PTA's for several years so I know more about how they operate. In a PTA, generally the other area scho0ls will donate seed money to the new school to get started, maybe $500.00-$1,000.00. Is this also customary in PTO's? Thanks, Tabitha in Corsicana
