I also know that Outback franchisees are required to give back a ceratin % of their sales via community programs. Call a local Outback and ask what sort of community service programs they offer. The manager will either tell you, or put you in touch with the owner/franchisee.

Depending on whether they are a chain or a franchise, it works differently. Some have the programs and some do not. speak to the manager and they can provide you with details, but we ask for 20% of the total sale. Our local fast food do not participate in such programs, but we have several others such as Friday's that do. We went one step further and asked the local "mom & pop" resterants if they wanted to participate. They jumped at the chance since it would mean an increase in business. They support us in other ways, so this was a way for us to give back to them. Hey, if we didn't use them, they wouldn't have the business. By them participating, they are making 80% of the ADDITIONAL business they had that night. 80% is better than 0%!!!

We also designated a month as Familiy Dining Out Month. Rather just having one night at one place, we set up various nights throughout the month at the different resterants. So it made it very easy for families to select a date around their schedules. Another school in our district has the 3rd Thursday of every month at the same resterant set up for their school.

It's a great way to make some extra money at no out of pocket to the PTO. It also shows that the PTO is supportive of local businesses and its fun to see your classmates out to dinner!!

Bon appetite!!

With Chick-Fil-A, I called the local restaurant and they gave me the phone number of the person that arranges all school spirit nights. We received 20% of the total sales and made over $300. We had it on a Thursday night from 4-8.
Papa Johns also has a "Dollars for Dough" where you get 20% of all sales - pick-up or delivery. We also did this on a Thursday night, but didn't do as well as Chick-Fil-A.

Just go to your local restaurant and ask for the manager. They should have all the paperwork and info. The hardest part will probably be getting a night that works for you. We did Wednesdays one year and did alright but discovered that a lot of people didn't come because of church events. This year we're doing Tuesdays and the numbers are better.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

Can anyone tell me how they have arranged restaurant nights with places such as McDonalds, Chick-fil-a, Chipolte, Subway, Wendy's, etc.? I have searched their main websites and see no information on who to contact. If I have to contact local stores, how do I find out who I need to talk to?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Melanie
