BOX TOPS CONTESTS

4 Years, 1 Month ago

Looking for some great ideas for Box Tops contests. I've done 6 but want some new fresh ideas....would prefer low maintenance. Tell me your best, most successful contests. Anyone willing to share? Thank you.

Currently we are doing an ice cream party for the class who turns in the most labels. Plus the top 3 families receive a prize and all participating families are put in a drawing for another prize. Each class has an ice cream cone with the number of lables on the "scoop" in the bulletin board. If there are siblings, we equally divide the labels among the classrooms. Our family participants have gone from 69 to 84. The labels, (box top, best choice, Campbell's & Tyson A+) have all increased. The class competition is from Jan. 23 - Feb.21. In two weeks, we have received over 3600 labels.
The key to labels is to keep reminding the parents to send them in all the time!

Our Home-School board puts together a basket of goodies for the kids to win. For every 15 Box Tops they bring in they get 1 chance to win the basket. Our current basket for the kids to win consists of..a fleece blanket, books, hot chocolate & mug, and candy & munchies. The kids love it and it's been working pretty well for us.

The month before each submission is due, we run a "doubler" contest. Each box tops that is turned in counts as 2 for the classroom count. Whichever classroom has the most points that month gets a party of the teacher's choice (ice cream, pizza, cake, etc.)

We also have a traveling trophy that the class who wins the monthly contest gets to "own" the following month. The classroom that "owns" the trophy the most gets a party of the teacher's choice at the end of the year.

Our winning room gets a pizza party at the end of the year. This year to make it more fair, we divided the competition into Primary and Intermediate. There will be a winner from each. And the the student from each room who brought in the most box tops will win some sort of party with our principal at the end of the year.
