"your town IDOL" we had one here... one friday was auditions/ tryouts, next Fri was elimination round- the crowd helped vote, but we had a group of 5 judges- local dance instructor, choir director etc. FUN... could be done in one night too, but we broke it up. Used local DJ.

For many years, our parent-teacher group did an annual Fashion Show adult-only fundraising night at a local restaurant, where teachers donned clothing from a store and we had a basket auction. Due to lack of organizers and treasury debt, we have not had an adult-only night for about 5 years. We'd like to bring back this tradition, since it was very popular with the staff and there are many new families in our school. One family owns a Mexican restaurant where we could have the event, which would hopefully bring in our large Hispanic population, but I need some theme ideas. We were thinking maybe karaoke, dancing entertainment/demos (a la Dancing with the Stars). Any other adult-only things that are fun? We'd like this to be mostly fun this year and if it continues, then be a fundraising activity.
