Has anyone else picked up on this?

Usborne books is out of the UK and I believe that they are a MLM and not affiliated at all with Scholastic. If you are seeing some of the same titles it is because smaller companies usually "follow suite" with the bigger ones that carry certain titles they know will sell.

Do a search on Yahoo and tpe in "Usborne MLM"

We make more $ on Scholastics because they are cheaper to buy, but Usborne books are of very good quality. They just cost a little extra. This was also our first time selling Usborne. We were very happy with our turnout.

Hi there Lynn,

I an a big proponent of "user friendlieness" as well as having the best that the industry can provide so I recommend Imagine Nation Books, "Take Home Book Fair".

With so many companies trying to edge each other out and Scholastic selling "junk", I am happy to finally see a company pave a new way for funding. I have literally dozens of solicitors magazines and phone calls coming in each year. I have tried all of the above - sometimes they can be good but I think that they have all lost their voice when it comes to listening to what we really need.

We need great prices of all types and levels, the best titles in the industry with the best publishers and an ever changing up-to-date selection of quality books, and not to mention, we don't need the headache of having a team of volunteers. Most companies that are not really industry leaders will charge more because the representative wants to make more money. I dont know how "Take Home Book Fair" does it but they sure deliver!

They have my support!

I also sent away for a catalog-- love the pricing and they have a nice selection-- the librarian does the fall book fair with conferences-- but we are going with these guys for the spring sale-- I think we can have a great turnout with this catalog.
Thanks for the info.

Hi FoxMom,

Yes I agree with them having great prices! Many companies have such high prices so that they can afford to give rebates which turns the parents off. The titles Imagine Nation Books "Take Home Book Fair" has are very competitve for high quality books. I was surprised by the wonderful service and the title quality myself. ( I forgot to mention to Beth above- that they also have Spanish titles and Christian titles as well! They have many versions of this Book Fair and literally thousands of titles)

I am sure you will have a great turnout like we did. Maybe I would suggest sending a slip home with the students before the event to introduce them to it a bit before you actually have it... We held ours for about 13 days. It's nifty because the parents can enjoy it at home.

Glad to help.

Hi Beth!

You are welcome. I am glad you liked it. Yes, their Take Home Book fair catalog is great! They have such a great selection and I guess they change the catalog every year with new titles. Also, I called them after I booked the fall event and the person said that they have seasonal inserts that are included for fall events with lots of Christmas titles as well as the full catalog.

One thing I found important was to send the "provided" reminders home with the students. This really helps.

I am glad you like it!

I think that this company is a MLM. I could be wrong though. I have seen their selections before and to be quite honest it's mainly paperback and older titles. They don't really have much of an "up-to-date" Fiction selction at all. You want a company that leads the way in the industry.

I'd stick with companies that are Leaders in the American Industry that can disclose their program offerings upfront (open and honest)

Just my little opinion.
