We really do meet in the summer...at the pool with all the kids. we always do a potluck lunch and usually call in dinner- we get carried away! we laugh and giggle and set up each event to be voted on for the real meeting in September/August. As the president, I have outlined all my wishes, concerns, ideas and will pass that out to be ditched, used, added to or what not but by the first day it is usually all done..and we have bonded as a board and friends

Our principal has a breakfast for our board at the end of the year where we do kind of a debrief of what went well and what we want to change. The secretary takes notes and then puts them in our ptc binder. It's one more thing to do but it's so worth it because it's surprising how much you forget! We also put a date on our calendar to get together to do welcome packets. This is something new we are do so we are not scrambling at the beginning of the year.

We will be having 1 final pto board meeting to go over the programs that are offered now and discuss which programs we will be promoting next year- This is all done with the in-coming board members and any outgoing President/Vice President Board member---
We also answer any questions new members might have to help them get started in their new roll---

We discuss meeting over the summer and when we will be starting back-- as we go back to school 2 weeks before school even starts to get things up and running

1. We are going through the end of year checklist from PTO today.
2. The new PTA officers were invited to a transition PTA meeting where we discussed big picture issues for the new board to address moving forward
3. The new president got a walk through of the building and a chance to meet alone with the administrators
4. At the final PTA board meeting, we've asked the committee chairs to bring along their end of year program reports to give to the new president - dinner and childcare will be provided
5. We're scheduling the PTA meeting where we'll thank all our volunteers, install our new officers and end with a performance by our school's instrumental music group.

love the party idea-- we meet with in-coming kindergarten parents in a round -up night --- and promote PTO and involvement and answer any questions they might have.

At the end of the school year one of our (gracious) board members holds a party at their house for all the committee chairpeople. We ask that everyone bring:
-an app or bottle to share
- a bulleted list of what went well and what could be improved for their event or fundraising program.
- we also have them email the list to the secretary so they can compile them all in a central place.
- we don't do much with the lists the party but collect them.
