Parent Volunteer Guidebook

7 Years, 6 Months ago

Hello everyone.
I am a new Parent Assisted Learning, PAL's, coordinator. I am looking for ideas for an informational guidebook. I am wanting to put together a guidebook on what a Room Parents and Assistant Room Parents roles are. I would also like to give them sample party ideas. Like games, refreshments and such.
I am planning on giving these to parents at our Volunteer Breakfast this month.
We have many positions parents help out with. We have parents help the librarian, publish books, greet visitors once a month. I have role descriptions for these. We all know that being a room parent for the first time can be overwhelming. I want to make this easy for them. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi Jodi,
I've sent you the two forms that were in our Welcome Packet that helped identify the roles that many of the volunteer opportunities - entailed - with brief descriptions of the roles so people could at least have an idea what the responsiblity was and if they wanted to sign up for a particular role.

If there are of help - great. If not, well then just delelete and move forward.

Hi, wsato@socal.rr.com, sallye_sapp@hotmail.com - I've sent you the forms I used in the Welcome Back packet - but sorry I didn't design the Parent Volunteer handbook that we used - so it is not on my computer.

I know that years ago, there was a website devoted to homeroom - classroom moms, with ideas on homeroom parties, gifts, etc. I just looked around google.com but it didn't come up right now. If I find it again, I'll post here.
