mceprez--what part of TN are you from?

This post has gotten interesting - I haven't checked back since the ketchup thing...

Our principal is still in the process of coming up w/ a committee to let the parent's know what is happening. I AM NOT ON THIS COMMITTEE! I don't think that this is going to be good. This was going to be our first go at the Doughnuts w/ Dad and Muffins w/ Moms...the gov't screwed that!

we are not affected by the food rules as all pto events are run outside of school hours and the food rules apply strictly to school hours
proper. clever, huh.

as for proposed changes to the class parties, like no more junk brought in by parents, well here comes world war 3, parents vs principal. it will not be accepted by our parents, thats for sure. what is the punishment if you go against the rules? there is none. at least, not at our school. so its all empty talk, the party food changes, beucase they havent planned on a system to monitor and enforce those changes. and the school too, has no set system to be reviewed and party foods checked, so no one loses and my guess is it will be party business as usual. we shall see.

Shawn, you and I can be the 'coupla cajun cupcake crusadin coldbeer drinking comrades' and keep the schools honest
dont let em take our parental junk food (or any, for that matter) rights away from us!!!!

I will be watching like a hawk next year, to see what my school does about the 'wellness politics' i mean 'policy'.......I will be interested to see how they try to enforce what parents can and cant bring in to classroom parties.....PTO becomes police takes over, thats party police, not the other kind!!
