Planning Calendar

Wow! That is a great document! Plenty of detail for all. :) We've started using MJS Software which allows us to essentially do exactly what you just did (only we can break it down by exact project and automatically publish the project to our website). I think the software is all free if you want to check it out. It might help when it comes time for all your various project/event planners to pass on their information to next year's committee chairs.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I wish I had had this document when I first took over. As soon as I finish the Event Instructions I will post them. They go into EVEN MORE DETAIL (if that is possible!). Thanks again! I hope my hard work pays off. It's shaping up to be a great year. Elections are tomorrow (gee, I wonder if I'll win?) and we have tons of volunteers - but no president candiate yet!!!! I wonder who will be drafted from the job she loves????

Your planning calendar rocks! It shows that you put a ton of thought and time into planning. We greatly appreciate that you shared it with other leaders. As JHB said, it is a wonderful resource! Based on this doc I am not surprised you had 2,500 volunteers last year. Awesome.

buggal1989 - what a great resource! Thanks for sharing. Your month by month work plan is really detailed and would be a wonderful tool for any incoming president. It's 34 pages long and has very detailed information, so those of you looking for tools like this to get you organized should check it out.

Thanks bunches. Sounds like I am on the right track! I am using Word. I created a chart then went month b month listing events or programs and listed what should be done that month. Included a lot of detail - from how many hotdogs served to conatact people and names. As soon as I "fluff" it a little more, I will upload it here for all to see. Have done a lot of web searching and cutting and pasting. I will give you the "long" form that includes all the ideas I found or had suggested. After our planning meeting this week I will be deleting what we chose not to do so the final product will hopefully be shorter!
