bingo night

6 Years, 5 Months ago

Just wanted to share this -- we had our first ever bingo night and it was a great success. Some 200-250 people showed up. We ordered some paper bingo cards and laminated them so we can use them again. I also ordered bingo chips, but then had worries that we wouldn't have enough, so I went to Wal-Mart and bought buttons. Good thing, because we would not have had enough chips otherwise. We borrowed someone's bingo cage. For prizes, we used some left-over school items, like t-shirts, cookbooks, fundraiser sample items; and I bought some things for the kids from the dollar store.

We did not charge for bingo night -- didn't want to go anywhere near "gambling." A couple of school clubs sold drinks/snacks. Everyone enjoyed themselves, so we will do it again. From now on, our only expense will be prizes (not a lot when you shop the dollar store!).

This was great just for a family fun thing to do -- I met lots of families and people I didn't know before then. If anyone wants to try it, and you have questions, feel free to ask.
