Membership Drives

As a first year Pres. last year, I was appraised at how I got people involved. First, the 1st meeting is the BIG ONE!!! All new parents come and it is jammed. Set the tone with a positive note, greet everyone with a smile, talk about the committees that are OPEN and how everyone should pitch in to help. Having more hands means less hours spent. I keep my meetings to one hour and always have a theme for my meetings. Recipe swap, chocolate fountain, etc. I ask people right out to help. If someone has an idea, I ask them to do it. Our membership has increased over half this year. It's only 5.00 and I bascially can do without asking for the money. I think everyone should be apart of the PTO regardless of the money. The money is just a boost to our one and only fundraiser! Our walk a thon! Survey results found no more catalog fundraiser, so this is it!! Good luck.

Our school is trying to be more healthy this year. We would like to award the winning class or grade extra recess. You might also try getting local businesses to donate prizes for the winning classes.

What kind of fun creative things do you award classes with the most participation in the membership drive. I know pizza party or ice-cream party. Do any of you have 3 levels of membership and what things do you offer to each?

2-part question

Thanks
