Always love to read about parent-teacher groups around the world.  No huge surprise that the British versions sounds fairly similar to ours here in the U.S.  And just like here, a good number of British groups are taking big steps beyond standard PTA fare, really professionalizing their events and activities.

The concept goes well with one of our most basic tips:  do less (whether it's fundraising or events) but do what remains bigger and better.  Makes a huge difference in volunteer recruitment (folks are attracted to success) and for the reputation of your group.  Here's a column I wrote on that a while back, called "Think Big".
