Math Mania Night _ Nice
May 15th, 2009 by Tim SullivanFamily events — excellent. Family events with an academic connection — even better. So kudos to this Massachusetts PTO for their creative math night for parents and kids with an emphasis on supporting the school math curriculum.
Looking for family night ideas (and the tools and step-by-steps for making them work)? You’ve got to check out our School Family Nights program.

We also had a similar event at our school: Mad Science night. Mad Science is a nationally recognized science program that we invited to the school. They set up five different experiments in five different classrooms and parents and their children rotated through each experiment. We sold hot dogs and received a partial grant so the program paid for itself and both the parents and the kids loved it. It will become an annual event.

That sounds great! Would it be possible to send me the information on both the grant as well as the program?

Hi Heather-
The clever Math Mania night in the article was developed by the Carver Elementary School.
If you are interested in ideas and kits for other family nights, look here:

By the grant, did you mean Lowe’s Tool Box for Education grant? If so, here’s a link to information:

Hope this helps,
