Question: Principal is Having Affair with Board Presient

Our California public elementary school is in the middle of a scandal. The word has gotten out that our brand new male elementary principal is having an affair with our pto board president. What can we do? No one wants to approach him for fear of retaliation. She denies it. Both are married. Help.

Oh boy. Well, this kind of story can get a lot of people worked up. But, this really is a school district issue and not a PTO issue -- unless it is interfering with PTO business. One word of caution -- It is important to avoid discussions about this. As you mention "word has gotten out,'' it could end up that it isn't a true story and the people involved could be upset that others publicly accused them of inappropriate behavior.
