Need Ideas for PTO dinners

Here's what we're doing this month.

The drama club is organizing the talent show. They get admission proceeds of only $1. The PTO is having parents and teachers donate chili for the chili cookoff. That costs $3. The fire department will be asked to judge the chili. The PTO will buy spoons, crackers, napkins, drinks, and gift cards for first, second and third place in the talent show and chili cookoff.

Last year we did the same thing. It didn't raise much money, but it was fun.
Maybe you can alter the event and also have a quick meeting.

We are hosting a Kentucky Fried Chicken fundraiser. For $3.50 per person, we get two pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes, cole slaw and a roll. We will be charging $7 per person. There's no work for us - their catering department will cook, deliver, serve and clean-up. We could charge as much as we want depending on the amount of profit we want to make. Even at $7.00 a meal, it's a deal since the nearest KFC is 15 miles away.

In reference to ideas....Suds and Spuds night (soda and baked Potato Bar) might be good . Post signs on plain brown bag paper shaped like potatoes.

Potatoes will hold their heat for awhile. Serve with crockpot of chili, sour cream, green onion...other toppings. Pretty easy and pretty healthy.

We are using this as a fundraiser of course and gave discounts to the PTO members. A specific grade will have a performance after each PTO meeting, so there are always a lot of parents that are not members, but have come to watch their children.

Last night was our first dinner & it was a success. We served hamburgers, hot dogs, chips & drinks. I was just wondering if any other schools have tried this idea and what items we could offer for dinner. We have thought of having chili, soup, or possibly spaghetti dinners. Any ideas would be appreciated greatly!

At our Spring Fiesta we had a Taco Bar that was a huge success. We went through our School district. Much cheaper than going through a vendor.
