President needs attitude adjustment

14 years 5 months ago #151519 by LCK
Our president this year is extremely negative. We have a hard time keeping volunteers and I believe this is a huge part of the problem. To her, the only people that count are the people with a seat on the board, herself being the most important of course. She goes on and on about how much she does, how much the other parents don't show to do, she will complain about the smallest things of the "outside" community members that show to help with anything. She just kind of sets an unwelcome tone at meetings, it's no mystery to me why so many come once or twice and then disappear. I am planning on really tackling our parent involvement issue and that has to include the way we welcome visitors and volunteers. I don't know how to get her attitude in control though. She has turned out to be a bigger handful that I anticipated. Any advice? I guess I'm a little nervous because all of the things I want to address with the group boil down to her. I feel like I'm going to be talking about things that in realilty are things that SHE needs to change. I'll know it, other people will know it and it will just be akward. Ugh.
