I just got out my yearbooks. How could we forget:

*Painters pants and HATS!

*Argyle anything

*Sweater vests

*Coca-Cola Clothes

*Jam Boxes (or boom boxes)...the bigger the box the cooler you were!

*Hoop skirt prom dresses

*Bruce Springsteen...BORN in the USA! I was BORN in the USA!

And I have to say that the girls in my school didn't have big hair. They had HUGE hair! LOL!

Debra Winger was in An Officer and a Gentleman. Maybe Lori was the real name of the gal who played in Footloose...I don't know...but her movie name was Ariel. Footloose was a "controversial" movie in my mother's eyes, and we almost didnt' get to watch it. The funny thing is it is now one that my mother loves. Go figure!

Oh yeah...Almost Paradise. I can remember being so "in love" with this guy in my class and that song was "our song". LOL!

And isn't Strawberry Shortcake making a comeback? Or has it already gone by the wayside again?

Twist a beads! That is what we called them around here. LOVED THEM! They matched my swatch watch. Ha Ha!

Wasn't the Footloose girl named Debra Singer? Maybe it was Winger? Maybe her name was Lori. OK. That wasn't any help. She was pretty anyhow. My husband and I have often discussed how those kids could dance that were never even allowed to sway. Then there was the ultimate love song "Almost Paradise." Sigh. I thought I had that soundtrack. It was the bomb.

And I loved that girl's red cowboy boots. What was her name?

It was Arial or Ariel or however it was spelled. The same thing as the Little Mermaid. ;)

How about headbands that matched your shirts? And the different colored beaded necklaces that you put together and twisted to make a choker kinda thingy.

How about a mini 80s museum? I still have alot of my Strawberry Shortcake stuff and I know I didn't throw none of my Duran Duran memoribilia away. LOL!! I am sure that many of your parents have stuff buried in the attic, even if they don't want to admit it. Remember that Olivia Newton-John double album? I loved that.

The daughter of one of best friends from middle and high school told me that they went to see Duran Duran in Nashville. This little girl will be in 8th grade!! Boy do I feel old.

Oh oh oh... what about WHAM! "Wake me up before you go, go..." Now that was get up and move music. Did any of you watch "Hit Me Baby, One More Time" on NBC? I loved hearing some of those songs and seeing what the artists look like now.

And who can forget Belinda Carlise with the Go Gos! Circle in the Sand, Band of Gold, Heaven is a Place on Earth, We Got The Beat...

Also, Walk Like An Egyptian by The Bangles!

What about the BeastyBoys?

You know you're getting old when you're up at 2 am and an infomercial for Time Life comes on and the CD set is for 80's music!! LOL

Okay, I did own a pair of parachute pants. That was when I liked Ozzy. LOL I loved Prince too. "Party like it's 1999" seemed so far away! And I'd still love to see Madonna in concert.
We have a great 80's station here. I flip between it and the country station.

This is too stinkin' fun!
