We wanted to have a Parents' Day Off and provide a safe, very cheap, babysitting opportunity for parents to do Christmas shopping on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. We held the event at the school, did fun activities with the children over a 5 hour time block. Different areas for crafts, board games, video games, movies, and toddler play area. 3 parent volunteers were involved and 10 Jr. High babysitters. We charged $5. per kid for the whole day and gave the money to the Jr. High students for their class trips. It went great. The little kids loved playing with the older ones and the parents were very grateful for shopping time!
