Kleenex

Hi jade, we are a charter school and are kind of a separte school from the district. We follow their guidlines etc but add our own and often run a "tighter ship" than district schools. For example we require uniforms, closed campus, and parents that MUST donate 5 boxes of Kleenex a semester (NO! :))

Hmmmm Bucks for Boogers. So that would be just for Elementry or could we include Middle and High School? Love ya LUVMYKIDS :)

Okay, just had to throw this out: Attention all parents! XYZ will be having a fundraiser to aid our school in the area of sanitary supplies for classrooms. Watch for more info on how you can help with our Bucks for Boogers fund drive!

She did yeild and sued the school district as they were the ones that encouraged the school to take the actions we did.

How odd...here only the school district would be sued, and never an individual school.

I'm glad they're using kleenex, given the yucky stuff that's going around! I did an internship in 1st grade this semester. I think they went through a box of tissues a day!!! Since 25 kids brought in 3 boxes each, that's only 75 days worth of tissue!

I think someone would be very rich if they could figure out how to get a monopoly as a school kleenex supplier!

And that is the underline problem, this person was not thinking past her own needs of a box of Kleenex! A good friend of mine is on the school board and joked about each of the board members (5) bringing a box in and hand it to her after her review! Okay, she has a twisted sense of humor too but it helped me get past it.

But yeah, Kleenex. Gotta have 'em.:)

That's sort of...funny in a strange way...just the thought, though, is very important...when we come up with these "rules" or "suggestions" we need to remember there are many parents with more than one child attending.

My son's school is very poor. They were sued over the construction of the school, and funds that were supposed to build a playground and much more, went to attorney's fees instead. I can't imagine anyone having the...gumption...to sue a school but it happens. So we have no playground even. And we don't just run out of kleenex, but toner for the copy machines, etc!~ The parents at the school are not rich either, most of them, and don't have enough themselves to donate a lot of items. It's ashame, that our schools are in this type of situation.

Don't people realize these children are the next generation...and they see what our country's focuses are on....which apparently, is not our kids?
