Anytime! I'll see what else I can come up with.

Tina

***Luckily I re-read my post and noticed I left out an option so it has now been edited!***

Okay, you asked for it, this is a rough idea of an eye-catching article for our school newspaper. A teaser as it may be...

How do you approach a swimming pool?

a. Dip your toe in first before slowly descending down the steps?
b. Go down the stairs quickly, get wet, but then float around the rest of the time?
c. Jump in from the side and play?
d. Get in and swim laps
e. Find the nearest high dive and take a plunge?
f. Sit nearby, never get wet, but chat with other swimmers?

Now what does this have to do with PTO? Regardless of your answer, we have a volunteer position for you!

If your answer is A consider a spot as a Weekly Reader or an occasional Refreshments Provider.

If your answer is B how about being on the Membership Drive or Welcoming Committee?

If your answer is C you could be a Room Parent or help out with Teacher Appreciation projects.

If your answer is D we need you to write the Monthly Newsletter or be a Weekly Classroom Volunteer.

If your answer is E then Fundraising sounds like your spot.

If your answer is F there's a place for you on the Phone Tree or the School Spirit Committee.

Now if you never even get down to the "pool", how will you know the fun you're missing?? The PTO allows you to get to know other parents, your childrens' teachers, children at the school...plus it opens doors to your own child's learning experience.

Anyway, it's an idea and my brain seems to be churning out alot of them lately. Hope you enjoy!

Tina - you made me laugh so hard I'm about to cry or wet my pants but since I haven't had coffee yet (it's not 7:00 a.m. here yet) I don't have any extra fluids to spare. Thanks for lightening this whole thing - you're right, I feel like I'm in Disneyworld compared to some I've read and I feel for them. Of course Metzy and Scooby can move here and help out any old time!!!!!

No problem! Here's some descriptions I chose not to use...

Do you like walking the line between insanity and saneness? Does living in a country with political unrest stimulate you? Do you seek the thrill of the hunt in a place where there is no translation for "googly eyes"? Is "turn the other cheek" your mantra? and the list goes on.

Funny enough, after reading some posts on this site I have felt that the problems we have here don't even begin to look bad!

Venz - "enjoy creative thinking and writing? Do you like to make the mundane seem exciting? Then writing this "survey" for PTO is the perfect job for you! LOL Will you share it when you're finished? PLEASE???????????
