On this topic, we're really excited about our new School Family Nights program (www.schoolfamilynights.com
).
In the long term, we're developing a series of complete Night "kits" to help you put on great events to connect with your school families. Sample letters, posters, how-to instructions, content... the works. All free. We know that when you're able to connect with families by bringing them quality content, that's the first step to getting them more deeply involved with your school.

We had one of our local police officers come in to discuss gun safety in the home. I thought it was great. So so response like always but those who attended felt it was informative. Our DARE officer is coming this year to tell the parents about the program. [img]tongue.gif[/img]
I was wondering about the Gateway visit.... are you in a community near them or just one with a store? Or none of the above? How did you go about getting them to come into your school? You mentioned it was free, to the parents or the PTO? Do you know if this is a program that they offer to everybody? With everything going on in today's world, I would think this would be a great opportunity! Thanks for the info!
Gateway Computers came to our school and did an Internet Safety seminar for the parents...it was great and FREE! They also brought with them some great raffle prizes, and computers for the kids to try out (some really cool ones!) Everyone liked it!
