Too many fundraisers!!!

It would be good to put it to the general group. You might find that there is a lot of support for it. And if the group consensus is not there then, it will not be seen as you are shooting it down. I can't say our social events are attended by the majority but everyone that comes has a good time and if we make a little profit or break even, we still consider it a success. Unless we were counting on it as a major fundraiser!

I think it sounds like a headache. It would be a wonderful opportunity... any other month. December is a time for burnout, particularly when this play is so close in time to the student's production. Is there any way the PTC can just absorb the cost without charging admission? Even still, attendance might be light. Shame they don't just offer to perform for the students for free during the day.

Help!!!
As the PTC President for my school K-6 I was asked by a parent to have a Christmas play performed at our school as a fundraiser. It sounds like a great idea and only costs us $60.00 and the students father is in the play, however we are tied to the date of Dec 18th. Just what the parents need, another thing to spend money on in Dec. I told the parent to come to the next PTC meeting and we will discuss the issue but I feel that the date is horrible and it cannot be changed as it is a theatre company. We already have a cookie sale the first week of Dec and our own student holiday program that week.
Am I being realistic in thinking that this is a bad idea?
We only have 125 students and I dont think we will get a very large turnout.
Any thoughts???
