Idea for fundraiser

I have to say that I agree about the steep pricing. For a family of four, this easily gets to be more than our families would be willing to spend, and we are in a fairly well-established neighborhood. Also, our families have so much on their plates that it would be difficult to find a night that would attract enough people to make it worthwhile.

Sounds interesting enough, but for a school such as mine, the proposed cost of admission is too steep.

How much would this cost the PTO?

Hi all,
As a school assembly performer I would like to get the opinions of some PTO people on an idea that I have been thinking about for some time. I can perform a family fun night fundraising program about 50 minutes long consisting of an original live music sing-along concert with kids coming on stage to sing with me, plus magic and ventriloquism. Most of the songs have positive themes. I am thinking of doing a fundraiser where kids sell tickets to the show for $5-8. I can easily accomodate 500 people.Raffles can be held that night as well as 50/50's. Refreshments can be sold as well.
For the ambitious group an ad booklet can be put together and door prizes could be gotten.
Can you please let me know if this is an idea that will work and if not can you give me suggestions tha would make it work.
