Our school has a beautiful mural, but it was done many years ago. We think its tim to make a new mural that represents the cultural diversity of the students and celebrates their culture. Any ideas on how to get started. Who we can ask for help and maybe even how to involve loca artist?

Hello Robin, I would be glad to talk to you about a mural project for your school. I don't think the CT Commission on the Arts would make a grant to you but I think there is some relationship between the PA Arts Commission and the New England Foundation for the arts. www.nefa.org
NEFA is hosting some performers from PA here. I am wondering if there is a reciprical relationship. I will call NEFA to inquire. If it is true that would be great.
If not schools have raised more than the funds needed for a mural program by producing postcards of the completed mural. Of course this would have to happen after the mural was complete. I could put you in touch with some of these schools here in CT to varify their fundraising numbers if you want to consider that option. Post cards of the completed work are a great option. so we can eventually benifit from the collective effort and finances to market ourselves. Agents usually represent performing artists. Many fellow teaching artist have found it difficult to get connected to our prospective clients . .. you. I will be calling to find info and pricing for ads in the PTO magazine and website. I and we would appreciate any other advise from the folks that normally higher our services. Any suggestions? Where do you go to look for teaching/visiting artists? Thank You
