We use Prokids. I believe that they are all over the US. We always have a good turnout. He performs during the day for the kids and in the evening a different show for parents and kids. I love it!

I am looking for guest speakers for parent club meetings to give a short presentation. I am hoping this will get more parents to come.

To shake parents away from their day-to-day duties, you need strong programs, or they WILL NOT come.

ASK your parents - if they could learn one new thing to help their child learn/grow/behave, what would that be? (write down their answers) VOILA! a program topic.

Check your high school guidance department or the closest college to your school and ask if they can point you in the direction for speakers. (this may take a few phone calls).

Regarding entertainment for the kids - talk to the Honor Society teacher at your local high school - the honor society students MUST log in a number of volunteer hours to graduate. Have board games, or open gym. It doesn't have to be fancy nor expensive.

Good luck.

Check you local high schools' theater group. Some offer to put on a skit/play that is entertaining and educational at the same time. Most offer their services for free because the kids can use the time towards their Thispaisian(?) hours. Also your local dance/singing/cheerleading businesses will allow the kids to do assemblies for free advertising.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Does anyone have information for guest speakers for the Illinois/Missouri Metro East Area. (We are about 30 minutes from downtown St. Louis.

I am looking for guest speakers for parent club meetings to give a short presentation. I am hoping this will get more parents to come.

Also I am looking for ideas for the kids while the parents are in the meeting.....like a magician, indian dancers...or any other ideas you may have.

Thanks!
