I looked at the peacefulplayground.com website and thought it was great, especially the grant money from the US Department of Education! Taking this idea to the rest of the board. Much cooler than an ampitheater which was suggested by a teacher!

Here's an idea...how about a giant blank sodoku puzzle grid. Each week (or whenever) someone could fill in some numbers using electrical tape (would stick on and easily peel off). Supply the kids with chalk and have them solve the puzzle. You can get easy to difficult puzzles on line. anyway...just a thought.

We have just finished painting a map on our playground. I am a math teacher and would like to make our other area a math one. I am thinking about painting a large hundred chart, large shapes, square, triangles etc. Hopefully we can reach some of the kids who aren't learning in the classroom. Has anyone ever tried this?
