Next Week's Elections

I agree with checking your bylaws to see what they have to say, however if they don't cover that area I wouldn't just close down the group. If you have other board members in place they could hopefully keep the group going until a leader(s) can be found. The President leads the group, they should not be the sole decision maker or sit in such a position of control that the group cannot function without them.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

It is stated in our bylaws that our PTO cannot exist with a president. If your bylaws don't state it, then I would assume your PTO can operate. However, if no one is there to run it, then your PTO won't get much done.

Hi all!
Ok, we've got the dreaded elections next month. The current treasurer and the ex vice-president (she resigned midway through this year due to medical reasons) are the only ones "running". The nomination committee sent home letters to everyone to return if they were interested.
I am the Secretary and my friend is the President...neither of us are re-running.

Here's my question. Our bylaws state nothing about this.

If we don't get someone to run for President and/or Secretary, can there even be a PTO? I'm not so much concerned for the Secretary spot as that may be easier to be filled but without a President, I don't think the board can exist. Does anyone know what Robert's says about this???

My main concern is rolling over left over money in the budget when no one is really sure whether we'll have one or not. KWIM?

If I need to explain better, please let me know!
Thanks!
