Rewriting out dated ByLaws

The way to amend the by-laws should BE part of the by-laws. If not, there would have to be a vote by 2/3 to change the rules. Get the info from the Roberts book, but the current by-laws supercede it. Also, make sure it is part of the by-laws that Roberts is used for rules where the by-laws do not state a particular method, so if something isn't covered, Roberts is used in the future.

If you go to pages 574, 575 of Robert's Rules of Order (10th edition) you will find the info you need. Basically if there are a few changes you may simply "Amend Something previously adopted". the procedure to do this should already exist in your bylaws (Usually a notice at one meeting and vote at next meeting) If there are numerous changes the changes should be given through a substitution of a completely new set of bylaws. This is called a revision. Pages 538-540 go into discussion of bylaws committees.

I need help in rewriting our PTO ByLaws they are very out dated and need to be revised. I am not sure what the proper way is to do this or how to go about it.
Any input would be greatly apperciated. Hoping you could help.
