I am a new treasurer to a very large junior high school. After searching through file cabinets and drawes, I finally found some receipts for the past two years. 1999 seems ot be in good condition, but 2000 is a mess. I even found some old checks from the pto to no one in particular. No one seems to know about them. The president is also new to her position. We are the only two on the board that seems to be doing anything. Everyone is either out or not available. Our treasury is completely dry. We just started a mini fund raiser with arts and crafts that we have made ourselves. It seems to be going pretty well. Most of all we are trying everything we can to get these parents involved. We are an inner-city school and I shudder to think that we are the only two parents in our community that cares what happens to our children. Does anyone have any ideas how we can get these parents together to help our children and our school. I'm very fustrated.
