One thing you'll quickly is that while everybody may have a "board", not everybody means the same thing when they say that. So I think we need a little more info about your situation.

To me, your statement is meaningless.

I suppose our board could have different goals than a majority of our membership would agree with. But that is why the majority of the nominating committee is selected by general membership at a regularly scheduled meeting. That is also why elections of officers requires that the floor be opened for nominations beyond those on the slate presented by the nominating committee. Thus, control ultimately winds up in the hands of the people who care enough to show up and vote.

I suspect from your question that your situation is otherwise. Could you please elaborate on what you mean by "the board" and "the PTO"?

Problem! I need suggestions. The board and the PTO have different goals for the school.
