This is a "pick your battles'' situation -- do you want to have a battle with the principal on this issue? I'm sure, as you outlined, you have really good and well thought out reasons for wanting to increase the popcorn price. But, the question is, why would the principal push back? Does he or she feel the community members can't afford that increase? It may be worth getting a good sense of why the principal has taken a stand on this.Then, the question is how much money will you lose if you keep it at the $.25 price? Everything is a balancing act. If you stand to only lose a small amount of money, maybe it is worth not changing the price. If you are going to be losing a big chunk of money unless you increase the cost, maybe find a compromise price with the principal ($.30 or $.40).
Due to costs etc we chose to raise our popcorn prices this year from $.25 to $.50. Our pricipal is really pushing back on this & is wanting us to drop the price back down. Since it is a PTA funded thing do we go with what he's suggesting or hold our ground.
