Very difficult situation involving Principal

22 years 1 month ago #63413 by mykidsmom
I wasn't able to go to Catholic School as a child and my parents still feel as though they are recovering HAHAHAHAAA!!

My question, isn't there a parish council or school board committee of some sort for yur school? Would the priest of your parish be of any help with your principal or even the parents as someone to talk to. My Mom tells me stories of Sister Margret Mary and the yard stick she would carry around in the halls. Sister didn't like my mom because her Dad owned a bar in town...a far cry from 2002 issues but there must be someone you can address your issues with. If anything, a call to the diocese (sp) to see who can help you and the other families.

I wish I knew more, but I do know there has to be someone you can address your issue with.
Please let me know what you find out!

I am from a Catholic school with a current student body of 155. I am currently the Chairperson of the Advisory/ Executive Board of our Home and School Association, and this is my twelfth year at the school.

We have a major problem and it is our Principal. She is driving families away from our school because of the way she treats our children, parents and staff. She openly reprimands teachers in front of parents, shares confidential information with inappropriate people, frequently loses her temper and shouts at children, and numerous other examples indicating a person clearly out of control.

Our problem is that we don't know who to approach about her. Our school is in a very precarious position due to our low enrollment and we're worried that further damage from her will sabotage everything we are trying to do to get our school back on track.

Is there anyone out there from other Catholic schools who has had a similar experience with a Principal? She is not a lay person, which makes it harder in some ways. Any advice you can give will be appreciated by a lot of people.
