This is ourCalahan PTA Mission Statement: The mission for the Calahan St. Elementary PTA is to identify curriculum and programs deemed by the membership* in its sole discretion to be vital to affect the richest educational experience possible for our children; to maximize the role of the school itself in fulfilling these objectives; and to plan, organize and execute events and programs which generate the resources and mechanisms necessary to fulfill these objectives.

Then we further break it down into vital objectives
  • Eye Care/ Health Clinic
  • Afterschool Enrichment
  • Afterschool Homework Club
  • Books and Beyond Reading Program
  • Technology Center
  • Enrichment Activities- Arts, Music, Theatre

The mission statement is specific but broad enough to cover activities, supplies and even fieldtrips. (which generate the resources and mechanisms necessary to fulfill these objectives)

PTO Mission Statement was created by Gottago
Hello to one an all. I need input from people that have been in PTO/PTA's that had a mission statement. I came from Arkansas where the miision statement was in place when I got involved, and it was working for us then. No one had to guess what the PTO was for nor what they did. But, now I'm in Indiana and the PTO I'm with is confusing. I'm not sure if they are raising money to support the needs of the children or school supplies for the school. I thought we could do both. I just need to hear what others think.
