We always purchase inexpensive small photo frames and the principal types up a poem thanking them for volunteering. These gifts are then given at the Teacher Appreciation Dinner in front of all the teachers and the volunteer gets a big round of applause!

Last year I purchased key chains (about 100) myself to give to folks staying and leaving that were big contributors. I smile when I see them being used now....d

I enjoy getting thank you cards. Something handwritten, and especially something made by the students would be a thank you gift I would treasure forever. If the group gave me a gift, I would think it was very nice of them to think so highly of me, but I would rather they bought something for the school.

I am sure there are many out there that shower volunteers with gifts but the true gift is in the act of volunteering for most. I think you may find a gift or something other than a eye to eye Thank you will make some uncomfortable.

There are some great gifts on line for volunteers or appreciation. Use google to look up appreciation gifts. A tote bag, travel mug, engraved pen, etc. are all useful and will remind them every day that their efforts were appreciated.

Does anyone have any suggestions for thanking the parents whose last kids are leaving the school? We have a few who have been priceless and we would like them to know how much we will miss them. :)
