What message would you be sending to the children who learned of this woman stealing this money. Right is Right and Wrong is Wrong. Wrong should be punished.
I feel the entire country is headed in a path were no one wants anyone to be held accountable for their actions. Our President is a perfect example. Have the average citizen try some of the things he did. I am still amazed that he has not been held accountable. We are all worried about being politically correct when we need to focus more on being morally correct.
What this woman did is appalling and needs to be punished and if that is through prosecution then so be it.

We recently discovered that the women who has been our treasurer for the last two years was "misappropriating funds", as the police call it. She was stealing money from the 300 children at our school that worked so hard to raise it. I am the president -elect on PTO board for this year. As a new officer, I was asked, along with the other new officers to decide rather or not to procecute this women. Even though she confessed to taking over $13,000.00 to the police chief, we alone had to make this decision. We felt that we had only one choice and that was to prosecute. We felt it was the only way to make sure that this matter would be fully investicated and that all the money would be returned. This women shows no remorse and did not even have a good reason for taking the money. Yet, we have some parents in the community that feel we are being too hard on her and that we should have just done a quiet investication ourselves and hoped that she pay back the money. We are confused by this thinking and wonder if anyone out there has any thoughts on this matter.
