WORKING MEETING

I have just a couple of questions and comments about this. Are these officers perfoming their duties or did you and the first V.P. have to do them for them? I think you have to remember that summer is a tough time to get people together due to vacations, family time, etc. and regardless of what time of year it is there is a good chance that you won't have 100% attendance at all meetings. Being that these people vounteered for their respective positions means, most likely, that they are willing to do the work that goes along with it whether they can make all the meetings or not. Maybe a friendly phone call after the meeting or a quick e-mail can bring them right up-to-date with the goings on and what they have to do. Or, if there is something urgent that you need to know about maybe you can call the officer right from the meeting? Is it fair to say that you and the 1st V.P. are the "whole" PTO because some officers missed some meetings? I can understand your frustration but you also have to remember that these people are volunteers and maybe they are doing the best they can. Whatever happens I wish you well with your future meetings and hope you have a very successful year. Good luck!

Check the By Laws! Our state that a member of the Exec. Board can only miss two meetings per school year. If more than that are missed they would lose their position. Of course there are exceptions to this rule if there were to be a valid reason for missing.

Our Executive Board has working meetings one week before the General Meetings. Since the new board has been elected 4 months ago I have yet to have all the Officers at a working meeting. It seems no one can ever make them. The meetings are organized and are to discuss and prepare for the General Meetings. I am frustrated. I realize we all have other things going on in our lives but dont we all? The 1st Vice President and myself feel as if we are the whole PTO. Any suggestions?Burnout is setting in.
