PayPal or online payments anyone

16 years 2 months ago #141123 by rkidz
We are thinking about starting online forms, payments, etc for next school year, 2008-2009.

Does anyone have any experience, is it a lot more work than paper? Do you do it yourselves, or do you use a company?

Paypal is pretty simple registration process, just need to associate a bank account with it (many options available- ie. Debit card, Visa Card, adding and subtracting funds, downloadable account registers)

The only drawback is they charge the transaction fee per $$$ amount (emailed to PTA/PTO) its all webbased and the PTA/PTO would have to have a master email account but subbacounts can be used. Strict rules would need to be adhered to.

My childrens old school didnt use it (they are slow to embrace new) but I know of quite a few schools in the area and friends schools do.

I use it for our Edible Garden and Schoolyard projects, fantasy baseball, and my 3 hobby games stores and 2 other companies, Ive never had a problem with them

A couple of other threads also address this topic

Using Paypal is simple, just remember they do charge a transaction fee, so you have to factor that in when accepting $$$
