Yes, JHB it was and I used it and it was great.
Thanks. Just remember that on line 15 on the financial pg. 8 you will want to put your expenses for the year. And on Page 6 need to check off I. Those were the only corrections we had and the nice IRS man contacted me and he told me just to fax them in. I hope this info helps.

There's also a posting under the Robts Rules area of the Forum where we shared our exact answers line by line for our Form 1023 application. Several other PTOs have used it as a template and said they had no problems. That info might help.

I have just been elected President of our PTA and I am really green but we are wanting to switch to a PTO. I am really having a hard time finding out the exact steps to take to do this. Does anyone know where I can find some help getting started? The information I have read thus far has been helpful, but I am still Kind of lost. Thanks!

You are soooooooooooooooooooooo good to us. I'd rather not fill out the paperwork at all - but oh, the consequences. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I am not asking for professional advice, just for suggestions from those who have gone before me. I am working on filing our 1023, and one of the questions is whether we are a private foundation. I'm confused - are we a private foundation (in which case we file schedule E) or are we being operated solely fo rthe benefit of blah blah blah - our school (in which case we file schedule D). I hate to tick off the IRS! Any help will be appreciated and as I get past this one I'm sure I'll have more questions.

Thank you.
