Too Much Money-Now What?

Do MORE!!!!...look around at what programs you can bring to the school for an end of year function. Ask the teachers to submit proposals for a "grant" and then have the principal prioritize them for presentation and voting to the PTO...buy library books, technology (those white boards are amazing), get some new wheelchairs for the children in the special education classes...have a "Dreamcatcher's Day" for your special ed folks that allows them to benefit from the PTOs talents (we're doing one in June), put up a school sign, paint your playground with those cool maps and stuff, splurg on the teachers by bringing in chocolate fondue from the Melting Pot (our Friday activity for TA day), get a landscaper to plant a butterfly garden for the children to enjoy, set up a "future's fund" that will provide physical enhancements to the building next year when the fund raiser might not be so successful (but get the pto's approval of course), throw and alumni night for your 5th graders...holy moly...buy a popcorn machine and use it for your events.
Give it to us :)....I can spend it...:)

Really--not too much wrong with this scenario and thinking outside of the box may be a bit scarey cause most of this stuff requires planning and someone to execute. Before I fritter away the money at this late a date I'd probably take a vote for carry over and plan a program to present first thing in September for you school.

Here's an unusual circumstance....

What would your group do if it raised too much money? If you hold a fundraiser for a specific project and then the fundraiser is so successful that you raise more than you needed to accomplish the goal - what do you do with the excess money?
Ultimately, what to do would come to a vote at the PTO meeting but any suggestions out there? Anyone dealt with a similar situation?
