Simplified Scrip?

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ANYMORE!!!!! like the other people that posted here we used this company with no problem last year. Now their choice list has been cut down to nothing and it takes them WEEKS to get just ONE card to you. CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS!!!! and that is when you can get someone to call you back, very rude. We have removed them from our fundraiser services all together. I think the company is going under and they are just trying to hang on. I can't think of any other reason for this decrease in service and stock.

We have been using Simplified Scrip at our church for over a year. The first few months were great. Then suddenly, they stopped sending cards with excuses that they did not have Woodmans cards (even though I didn't order any Woodman's!), yet this company would still withdraw from our members bank accounts (including mine) We suggested using this company to help families budget. I would use our entire grocery budget and gasoline budge to buy cards, then to have no appear and no money in my bank account to feed the family with. Lots of promises and no products. The past 6 orders with them have all not been sent without repeated calls and emails to Jenny. This is a very small company, and something bad has happened. I have no idea what is going on in that office, but it makes me feel they are embezzling money, due the fact that they draw straight from bank accounts or credit cards, when they knowingly do not have the product in stock. Lots of run-around from this company. Too bad, because it sounded so great. Right now, their percentages of donations are so low, it's ridiculous.
Right now I am holding a refund check in my hand that arrived yesterday for an order I paid for in July. They never even attempted to get these cards to me. I had to repeated follow up with my order every 2 weeks, because they would promise things, and nothing would be sent.
And I have over $200 of outstanding cards due to me still.
We have told all of our members to stop using this company and we are looking for a different scrip program, or to be running our own.
Do not use Simplified Scrip!!!! They take your cash and send nothing!

I've been using this program for about 2 years now and for the most part have been quite satisfied with it. A great way to raise funds for your school without too much work.
I have had some difficulties recently, however: the delivery of the cards I order, even through their Automatic Ordering program have been very inconsistent- arriving about 1 week later than they forcast. They've also been running out of some of their cards quite frequently the last 4 months: it can be hard enough to adjust your habits to use the cards as it is, but when the cards you plan on having for expenses as groceries and gas don't arrive in a timely manner, this can be a major disruption of one's finances.
One card in particular they"ve been having difficulties in keeping in stock has been on back order since last July, with "reassurances" of being caught up with orders for this cards "in another week and a half" or "next month".
I've been given scant information as to what they are doing about these issues and my patience is wearing thin. What a shame that they may lose business over these issues, since the schools will be the losers in this proposition.
I hope they finally get their act together and soon, or I may find this is not worth the hassle and discontinue my family's involvement in this program.

Our school has been using the Simplified Scrip version of the traditional scrip program for a little over a year. The reduced workload was a huge plus but that isn't the full reason we switched. The truly great advantage we found with SS is that we no longer had any risk. Just by chance and human nature, on occasion, one of our volunteers might accidentally give out the wrong card. When this happened, more often than not, we lost hard earned fundraising dollars. After crunching some numbers between the program we were using and Simplified Scrip's program, we found that even though there was a difference in the donations on some products, the losses we avoided with SS more than made up the difference. In brief, using the Macy's example presented there is a difference of 4% or one dollar for a $25 card. If just one of these Macy's $25 cards is lost, mishandled, or worst, stolen, our school would have to sell 25 more of those cards just to make up the loss. When we took this in to account, and the huge reduction in volunteer hours...we were sold.

Our school has done quite well with SS and we found one more bonus after using the program that you may want to consider. Since there is very little volunteer time involved and SS handles all the shipping, etc., we are now raising money right through the summer months. Especially nice for some of our families is their "Auto-Order" program.

We just started with Simplified Scrip this February. We have not had any problems with them as a company at all. They are local for us (our school is in Madison, Wisconsin and they are in neighboring Middleton), so I haven't had trouble contacting them because it's no problem to go to their offices.

Our challenge (as I'm sure it is for anyone running a scrip program) is reminding families to buy scrip before doing their shopping. We have a few families who have really caught on to it, but we have so many more who haven't taken advantage of it yet.

The appeal for us was that they do all the work for us - we've done the "traditional" way in the past and it was too much work for the office staff to deal with. SS seems to be adding new companies quite often and although their percentages might not be as high as others, I think the "no work for us" factor offsets that.

I have never used Simplified Scrip either. I personally have used GL Scrip for over 7 years. There is not as much work as you think that goes into it.

You can set it up so the parents enter their own orders, but they still have to give you the money. Then the coordinator just downloads all the orders on the designated day once they have confirmed payment.

We compile our orders on Monday.(1 hour) Then sort on Thursday. (about 1 hour)

So technically it takes us 2 hours to complete a weeks orders.

But, our school system has 4 schools that participate, we only put the orders through one school because the shipping and handling is $9 (or more) each time we place an order. So we compile each schools orders, enter them into the computer, the coordinator downloads the 4 schools orders, and processes them. She tells me it only takes her 1 hour to do all that.

I have been looking at the Simplified Scrip program so I don't have to do the compiling, since I will be starting work in the Fall. I have been lucky enough to be home during the day times before.

Please, if anyone has dealt with Simplied Scrip I would like to know. I have sent them an email 2 times, and I keep getting bounce back messages. I guess I will have to try and call them instead.
