Book Fair ? - HELP PLEASE!

Our chairpersons for our events are not executive board members. They are board members. So if this woman was in my school, it would be fine for her to still be chairperson, but she would have to work out who would be doing the duties that she doesn't have the time to do. OTherwise, as President, I would have to select another person that would take on the responsibility of it all and either do it themselves or delegate the tasks out.

Doing it for my one and only ~~ my son!

Usborne Books does book fairs as well. The problem is that, unless you find a representative that has been doing this for a long time and has built up their stock,they have one book as an example and you have to order what you want. They're great books though.
You could also do this as a book fair just for the teachers since a lot of their books are educational.

Our PTA is not involved with our book fairs. Our librarian does it all and money she gets from it goes to purchase new books for the library. She also has a "family night" each time she has a book fair and that brings in a lot of money.

I would love the name of this new company.

As far as boosting sales, we hold some kind of Family event in the evening, that help. But to big time boost! We hold Grandparents lunch during the week. We increased about $3,000 when we did that. Big success!!!!

I am interested in this company also. I just received a call from Scholastic telling me I could not change my dates, despite my telling the rep in the spring that Michigan law mandates after Labor Day school openings now and that my dates would have to change by a week or two. At no time was I ever told that would be a problem. After not so nicely explaining to the woman that we would be holding a book fair during parent teacher conferences, either Scholastic or another company, she told me she would really try to work something out with her sales manager. LOL I want to be prepared, just in case.

To OntheGoPTO:
In our schools, the library para pro had always organized book fair, since it benefits the library and that we have only had a PTA/O for five years now. I volunteered myself to coordinate them when we lost parapros a few years ago. I do this as a parent volunteer, not as a board member of our PTO. I recruit volunteers to work the fair, help set up and tear down. I also handle all paperwork, monies, etc.
