We too hold a school store. We use Geddes and AMC for our supplies. The kids love it. We also hold special sales on a different day for Smencils - the kids go nuts over them! Lots of fun. We sell - pencils, erasers, bookmarks, folders, notebooks, crayons, lanyards, rings, necklaces (kids like fun things too), keychains and tattoos.

WEeeeeellllllll, we have our sales on Friday mornings, before the first bell. We are going to start having them every other Friday, so we have enough time to replenish our stock, and so as not to burn everyone out with the novelty of it. This morning we sold smencils, Steeler pencils, bendy pencils, Spongebob pens, folders, notebooks, glue sticks. WE sold out of almost everything. We have been buying our supplies at dollar stores. I am looking into some different catalogs though, so, I can get higher volume at once. AS of right now, I am running it, I am the president, but, it was my idea. My plan is to get it organized and off the ground, the, I'll turn it over to someone else. I have had 2 other people helping me with it, seeings as how the sales have been so HUGE, we are trying to wait on as many kids as possible. It's really fun and an EASY way to make extra money.:o I hope this helps.

While I do not have any ideas, I'm wondering if you would share your store details: when and where do you hold your sales, and who manages it. I was at our PTO meeting today and we started selling pencils from a machine (cost 12 cents, and sell for 25 cents each) with overwhelming success. The 700-pencil order was thought to last til the end of the year, and already another order is to be placed! I'd love to pass on your store details to the committee. Thanks!
