When we have our book fair we have a teacher wish list of what books they would like for the classrooms. A lot of parents are willing to purchase those books and the children sign the inside.

Does anyone have a tactful letter requesting donations from families/students for teachers to use to purchase items for the classroom? (Our teachers would like some help purchasing books for their classrooms from the scholastic book fair. Due to budget cuts this year, our district has drastically cut class room supply allocations for the teachers leaving them either the option to purchase items with their own money or go without). We thought we would ask each child/family for a donation of $2 - $5 to be given to their teacher to be used to purchase books for classroom libraries to be used for guided reading sessions.
